Bulletin: SK1030 Vendor: Kantronics Subject: CR/LF Problems In AMTOR Mode Some KAM users have received reports that while in the AMTOR mode, their transmitted text did not contain carriage returns or line feeds (CR/LF). Some KAM users have referred this problem to KANTRONICS as a firmware bug. And some folks that see the text refer to the text as "KAMESE". If you are using a KAM with 4.0 firmware, these settings should give you the correct CR/LFs and will display the actual out-going text (including the CR/LF) as it is transmitted in real-time AMTOR ARQ, FEC, and/or RTTY. These settings assume that you are using standard terminal software. I have not checked these settings with HOSTMASTER - Kantronic's KAM software program. Note these settings also shift up in frequency the audio tones of MARK and SPACE so as to be in the middle of the audio passband of most HF radios. This usually provides a signifigant performance improvement - especially for HF Pkt. 8BITCONV ON AUTOCR 72 AUTOLF ON AUTOSTRT OFF CCITT ON CD INTERNAL/INTERNAL CR ON CRADD ON CRLFSUP OFF DIDDLE ON ECHO ON FLOW OFF FSKINV OFF FULLDUP OFF HEADERLN OFF INTFACE TERMINAL LCOK ON LCRTTY OFF LFADD ON MONITOR ON/ON MARK 2110 MYC MYSEL4 NEWMODE ON NOMODE OFF NUCR 0 NULF 0 RELINK OFF/OFF REPHASE ON RESPTIME 5/5 SPACE 2310 TRACE OFF TRFLOW OFF TRIES 0 TXDELAY 20/20 TXDAMTOR 5 TXDFEC 0 TXFLOW OFF XFLOW ON XMITECHO ON (all other settings at factory default or personalized via your call sign) John/WD1V Manchester, NH
