Vendor: Kantronics Bulletin: KA4560 Subject: HF tuning hint for KPC-3 I've used the following to put my KPC-3 pretty close to on frequency to monitor HF packet. - Set HBAUD to 300 - Set CD to INTERNAL - Set volume just past the point where a packet signal lights RCV - Set CD to SOFTWARE - Now RCV will light when data is being received even if only part of a packet is heard. RCV will wink as you tune through a packet signal. Set the tuning midway between the turn-on and turn-off points. Stay there and you should be able to monitor the next complete packet heard. - Of course, this is a compromise since the KPC-3 is set to 1000 Hz shift but it works for me. - THIS DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE 200 Hz SHIFT YOU NEED TO TRANSMIT ON FREQUENCIES BELOW 28 MHz AND STILL BE A GOOD "NEIGHBOR".
