Subject:   WinPack and Kantronics Kam

Hello to all, the name here is Danny and I just started to use
WinPack with my Kam. It works great and I give credit to its
designers. One thing I had trouble with though was its KAM.TXT setup.
If you use it as it is written, it will give a lot of problems and
possibly might not work. The following commands where changed in
my setup to work properly:

 CRSUP needs to be OFF
 LFSUP needs to be OFF
 PERSIST 64
 MARK 1600
 SPACE 1800

Changing these commands to what I have above allowed me to use WinPack
and I have enjoyed it ever since.
 One other thing, I did have to do a HARD RESET on the KAM in order
for the program to work. I then ran HOSTSET and setup the KAM, then I
entered HOSTMASTER so it would set my callsign. Then I exited and
went to WinPack and loaded the TNC.TXT which I made out of KAM.TXT.
I just edited KAM.TXT and removed all text at the top of the file and
entered all my info into the file and saved that as TNC.TXT.
 I hope this helps someone out there as it took me 2 days to get
this program to finally run corectly, it was well worth it though.
